Hibernation prep

We had a lovely sound bath last Saturday, which made me even more excited for the End of Year Restorative Retreat on the 30th. As we approach the Winter Solstice, my body and mind are both urging me to slow down and make time for rest and ease. I saw a post today reminding me that winter is a time of hibernation. Preparing ourselves with warm foods and drinks, cozy clothes and blankets, books, movies, arts and crafts, and plenty of time to just be is essential for our bodies and spirits to rejuvenate from all the effort of the rest of the year. While our modern society doesn’t typically slow down much in the winter, we can make conscious efforts to build in time to listen to our bodies and say yes to what we need. Time for yoga, meditation, journaling, rest, and other healing practices are wonderful ways to care for ourselves.
I would love for you to join me this weekend for Saturday Morning Yoga as we pause to listen to our bodies and care for them with lovingkindness. As a reminder my friend Kate is offering Monday and Wednesday morning classes from katekelly.yoga.
The final day of Hanukkah is tomorrow! Let us keep our own light shining as we send peace, love, and hope into the world through each breath.
