Flexible thinking

This week’s full moon energy has definitely had an impact around the world these last few days with many things coming to their natural completion. As we near the end of the calendar year, autumn, and the darkest days of the year it seems an appropriate time to let go of things that no longer serve or inspire us. This can be especially challenging with the things we have a strong attachment to or nostalgia for. I have noticed a need for some holiday traditions to shift in ways that I have initially resisted. I have been taking time to reflect on why I am holding on so tight, what it is that I really get from those traditions, and whether I can meet that need in a different way. Flexible thinking can be challenging, but exploring new perspectives often opens up new possibilities we had been unable to see previously.

The quote from Jack Kornfield jumped out at me this week as a good reminder that our bodies are always communicating to us even when we aren’t paying attention. When we pause to check in with our breath, we often find the information and answers we need in the moment.

Please join me for Saturday Morning Yoga from 8:30-10:00 as we pause, listen to our bodies, and care for them with lovingkindness. Previous recordings of Saturday Morning Classes as well as Evening Chair Yoga are available on my Youtube channel.
